more on buying a car

Things to look for check the oil only after you have taken it out for a good test drive then check transmission fluid look for any creamy substance on the oil cap or dipstick and smell the transmission stick to see if it smells burnt, check the door for previous stickers for accidents some places will let you check online for free, check the paint color under the hood check the lines does the hood seem crooked do the doors line up check the exhaust pipe on the inside is there black buildup usually means it is burning oil, will the exhaust need to be replaced soon,is there cracks in the glass forming, when driving the car does it pull to one side ,does it shift well or does it shift slow, when the car is parked turn the front tires far left and look inside to see if the boot on the strut is torn and look for leaks,do the same for the right, rush down on each corner of the car does it seem to bounce quite easily if so may need struts soon, does it make any noise when turning left or right, check all the lights and signals and windows do move up and down, generally it is best to buy used cars with less than 200,000 kms i look for between 100,000 and 150,000 and one of the most important things is always offer less than the asking price, ask about the history how long have they had it what work have they done ect.I will add more to this in later post
